02 — Capabilities

Five disciplines, one studio.

We don't specialise. We connect. Each capability strengthens the next — that's how ideas get from sketch to shipped.

01
SLH / 01 · Applied AI

Tools that think.

Custom copilots, agents and vision pipelines — running in production within weeks, not pilots that gather dust.

We build internal AI for teams who want it working in production. Domain-tuned models, agents that take real actions, vision pipelines for fabrication and QA. Prototypes in days, shipped in weeks.

SLH / 02 · Industrial & Product Design

Drawings that hold.

From first sketch to manufacturable CAD — files your factory can actually run, parts you can hold.

Industrial design with the hard edges intact. Ergonomics, form studies, material selection, and design-for-manufacture handed off in files your factory can actually use. We work in CAD that prints.

03
SLH / 03 · 3D Printing & Fabrication

Parts in the room.

SLA, FDM, MJF — finished parts in days, not weeks, straight off our own floor.

A working fabrication floor on site. Resin, filament, and multi-jet fusion, plus the finishing — sanding, painting, assembly — to make parts that look made, not printed. Hand-finished where it matters.

SLH / 04 · R&D & Prototyping

Build to learn.

Sensors, firmware and mechanics wired together fast — so you can test the question, not slides.

Integrated mock-ups that work, not slides that describe them. Sensors, firmware, mechanical assembly — wired together fast so you can hold the question and change your mind cheaply.

SLH / 05 · Web & Digital Builds

Sites that load.

Sites that load in under a second. Hand-built, hosted on a global edge network — no CMS, no bloat.

Lightweight, fast, hand-built. We don't reach for a CMS unless you need one. Hosting set up, configured and managed on a global edge network — included.

03 — How we work

From a paragraph to a working build.

Four steps. Two-week sprints. Each one ends with something you can hold, run, or read.

01
Listen

Idea

A sketch. A paragraph. A voice memo. Tell us what you're trying to make — we'll figure out if we're the right ones to help.

~ Day one
02
Frame

Brief

A one-page brief, a clear scope, a fixed price. No fluff, no slide deck — just the path forward and what it will cost.

~ Week one
03

Sprint

Two-week increments. Each sprint ends with something working — a part you can hold, a model you can run, a page you can read.

~ 2-week cycles
04
Ship

Execution

Tested, finished, handed over. Supported for 30 days. You leave with a thing that works, files you own, and a clear next step.

04 — About

A studio, not a vendor.

SL Innovation Hub is a five-discipline studio in Auckland's east. Design, AI, fabrication, prototyping, and digital live in the same room — because that's how good ideas get made real.

Most agencies hand you off. A designer to a developer to a fabricator to a contractor to a project manager. Each handoff costs you a week and a piece of the original intent. We hold the stack so the brief stays whole.

Bring us anything that needs to be made real — a product, a tool, a workflow, a website, a question with hardware in it. We'll tell you in a week whether it's worth doing, and if it is, we'll do it.

05 — FAQ

Before you write in.

Who owns the IP?

You do. Every project ends with the files, source code, CAD and assets in your hands. We retain the right to talk about the work and show non-confidential parts in our portfolio unless you ask us not to.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes. We'll sign yours, or send ours — a short two-page mutual NDA — before any specifics get discussed. Standard practice, no friction.

Do you work with clients outside Auckland?

Often. Half our work runs remote with video updates each sprint. Hardware-heavy projects benefit from on-site visits — we'll fly to you or fly you in when the work calls for it.

What's the smallest project you'll take on?

A single two-week sprint. Good for de-risking an idea, proving a concept, or scoping a larger build. If your question is smaller than that, we'll point you somewhere better suited rather than wasting your money.
